2008 Harley Davidson Road King Classic - Wicked HD

Murdered-Out Harley

Beto MendozaWriter

Ben Vasquez of Somis, California, hits the wind with this murdered-out Road King Classic called Wicked HD. The name of the bike comes from the '70s rhythm and blues band called Sly, Slick and Wicked. Ben currently has a 1957 Bel Air in the works called Sly '57, a '61 Impala that was featured in our December 2013 issue called Slick '61, and this '08 Road King that completes his tribute to the legendary group.

He bought this featured Road King brand new from the Simi Valley, California, Harley-Davidson dealer back in April of 2008. The Harley was all stock when he first got it, and with the help of his brother-in-law Angel Roman of Camarillo, California, that didn't last too long. They both chromed everything out and added Samson dual tailpipes, 21-inch ape handle bars, digital gauges, and a few other accessories. "The bike was originally meant to be a cruiser, but after a while I really started getting into it and kept adding more stuff. It has taken me two years to get to this point as I have a few other projects in the works." The bike originally came with leather bags, but they were switched over to extended hard bags.

His brother-in-law, who works in construction, helped out because he builds bikes as a hobby. Ben is now planning on getting a Street Glide for he and his wife to cruise around on. He would like to thank his brother-in-law Angel, his wife for putting up with all the late sly, slick, and wicked nights building his lineup, and his son for helping him to keep it clean.
